Our Story
The Willcox Christian School was founded on September 6th, 1994 with just 6 students. The school was imagined, created, and brought to life by Joanne Todd.
Willcox Christian School was founded to establish an educational program which would provide for the total spiritual and educational needs of children with the purpose of teaching them the Bible and causing them to become knowledgeable of God's Holy Word, to glorify God, to disciple one another, and to reach out to others in love; as well as to learn the academic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic. The school was briefly named in her honor after her passing in 2007, but was renamed the Willcox Christian School in 2023.
She founded the school because she saw a hole in our community that longed for christian education. We are still the only Christian school within 50 miles of the Willcox area.
Staff and Security
All of our staff and volunteers are background checked and are required to sign a statement of faith and code of conduct.
In terms of security, all of our doors are locked to the outside and any visitors or volunteers must enter through the office which is always monitored by the church secretary or the pastor. All windows to the outside have a reflective tint to keep outsiders from looking in. Recess takes place in a fenced yard with all gates locked via padlock. During recess, all children of all age groups are monitored by at least one teacher. The entire school is fitted with a security camera system which monitors every room of the school's building in live time.
